As a ceramics amateur I’ve spent dozens of hours carving intricate details into a basic rectangular box (which subsequently cracked) and I’ve also spent a lot of time building up less detailed sculptures (which generally cracked too). So, I have the patience to do something like this dragon, now I just need the knowledge, skill, and artistic vision.

    • Johnson Tsang 說道:

You are right, patience do help in my projects. But more important is, I treated clay as a friend instead of a kind of tools. Be a close friend to it, try to understand it’s character and ability. Don’t push it too hard. Than you’ll find the harmony between you and the clay.

Johnson Tsang. Fantastic inspiration for anthropomorphic figures put into surrealistic situations. His work has inspired mine in technical abilities and the stories that inspire and are inspired by my work.

Oh, it looks like a magical dancing between you and the dragon. How it borns between your hands who carefully makes it great and powerful…The way you do an ocean of water from a simple cup is simply extraordinary, and of course the niceness that you use to give our the details to this new form is really of a great master.
Thanks for showing us your knowledge!

    Cheers,
    Rafael

Beautiful work! If it isn’t too much of a hassle to answer, did you mix your own clay for this work?
